‘the bigger picture’ focuses on sustainability and bringing moments to life while having a positive impact. As well as taking better care of our planet, we’re working to better support each other and amazing causes, so we can help make the future brighter, one moment at a time.
Sustainability’s at the heart of ‘the bigger picture’. As well as making our products more sustainable, we want our full value chain – so that’s every little step of what we do, from our factory to your front door – to be totally carbon neutral by 2030. We’d say it’s a marathon, not a sprint, but 2030’s not a finish line. Once we get there, we’ll keep exploring ways we can bring moments to life, while looking after the world we live in. For all the details, look out for our sustainability reports, and follow us on social for regular updates.
Can we say we're 100% sustainable as a company? Not just yet, but a lot of our processes are sustainable, and we’re constantly improving, exploring, and experimenting every day to fine-tune our ways of working and our resources. We've still got a lot to do – here are our top goals for 2030:
- We want our full value chain to be 100% carbon neutral by 2030
- We’ll responsibly source renewable materials
- Our packaging will be made of 100% recycled materials
These are the big steps towards becoming the most sustainable in our industry, and we’re currently running multiple projects across our value chain to make sure we use less, waste less, and emit less. We’ll keep you posted on our progress.
Here comes the technical stuff; we’re currently compensating our emissions from internal business processes. This includes:
- Emissions from chemicals (used during production processes)
- Commuting
- Business travel
- Transport of our products to our customers
The total amount of emissions to compensate is roughly 3,500 metric tons CO2 (3,500,000 kg CO2)*.
We’re compensating our emissions by purchasing CO2 certificates from approved institutes.
We’ve partnered with 51 to carbon zero, REDD+ Business Initiative and ecosphere+ to measure and meet these goals.
Becoming carbon neutral is a huge step to becoming the greenest in our industry, but we’ve got more to do. That’s why we keep looking for ways to reduce waste and emissions. We’re currently running loads of projects throughout our full value chain – initiatives to lower our carbon footprint and the impact we have on the environment.
Our goal is to reduce our carbon emissions even further and to be carbon neutral for our entire value chain by 2030.
*The emissions are based on our 2022 data, and they include all our locations across Europe.
Your moments and memories matter, and you trust us to bring them to life through our photo products. That’s why it’s so important that we source the best quality materials, while taking sustainability seriously.
All the paper we use for photo books, double sided cards, and calendars is FSC® certified. FSC® stands for the Forest Stewardship Council® and it sets the standard for forest products such as paper and wood to promote sustainable forest management.
An FSC® certificate guarantees complete transparency. From forest to customer, the entire processing and trade chain is fully certified. Along with yearly audits by an independent certifier checking our company’s suitability, we can proudly offer our customers a range of environmentally and socially responsible products with the FSC® label.
Photo books: your bonusprint favourite is FSC® certified. All our photo books with a photo cover, including hard and soft covers, both standard and gloss options, are FSC® certified.
Calendars: the 12 product combinations that make up our calendar collection are all FSC® certified. This includes gloss and extra-matt, as well as the standard paper option.
Premium cards: the nine product combinations of our premium cards are all FSC® certified, both the cards and the envelopes. This includes the standard, gloss, and extra-matt finish. For now, our single-sided photo cards aren’t FSC® certified, though.
